1. WELCOME!
Glad you're here to witness the re-birth of our newsletter. It's been awhile since the last one, and it's good to be back. As in the past, we'll send this on a
quarterly basis on the 15th of the month (Jan./April/July/Oct.). I hope you will find it informative and something you look forward to receiving, and not just
one more junk item to delete. You will let us know, won't you?!
2. NEW WEBSITE
Hopefully, you received a note from us a few days ago about the new website at www.leedomann.com. We are very pleased with it and thank those of you
who made it a point to let us know that you do, too. I think you'll get a kick out of some of the pictures to be found on the "Scrapbook" link, occasionally
ponder over some of my personal musings on the "Road Reflections" link, and keep up with my musical travels on the "Itinerary" link. Let us know what you
like and don't like. Feel free to make suggestions.
3. SONGS FOR EBBY T.
That's the name of my newest album. I could not be more pleased with the way it turned out. It includes some songs with which many of you are familiar,
but sounding better than ever, plus some new songs that you haven't heard. Ebby T. refers to Edwin Throckmorton Thacher, a severe alcoholic who found
sobriety in 1934. He carried the message of recovery to Bill Wilson, who soon became co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous, now widely considered to be
one of the most important spiritual movements of the 20th century. But Ebby himself could not stay sober. The next 32 years saw him in and out of AA. I
have done this album in tribute to and gratitude for the "Ebby T.s" throughout history who have a healing influence on others, but who themselves have
trouble living in comfort and peace.
This album is the highlight of my recording experience to date. I hope you'll take a listen. For more info check our "Music Store" link at
www.leedomann.com/musicstore.html.
4. HIGHWAY HEROES
Each newsletter will feature someone who has made a significant impact on my life -- someone I want you to know about and to experience some of the
light shining through him/her. Our featured Hero this issue is the guy who taught me to write songs, Hugh Moffatt. He has been a dear friend and mentor
since 1979. He is acknowledged by many in Nashville as being one of the finest songwriters ever to grace Music Row. He now lives in Pullman, WA and is
currently working on a project called "Songs From the Back of the Church." It's a collection of songs (most written by Hugh) that I wish you could find in
your nearest record store. I really encourage you to read more about Hugh and read the lyrics found on his website at www.HughMoffatt.com. Just a
sample, from the pen of Tom Benjamin:
"He should have known they would nail him for that
He should have known that they'd be plotting a trap
He should have known that even friends turn their backs
He should have eased up on that son o' god rap
And got the hell out of town."
Dove Award, anyone?
